The
Arab Association of Singapore launched today, 22 January 2016, a major
partnership for establishing a regional support for the United Nations
Development Programme platform initiative, “Yemen Our Home”, which will extend
the support of Yemeni Diaspora in Singapore to needy communities in Yemen,
through UNDP-led projects. The partnership agreement was signed between Mr.
Khalid Basharahil, President of the Arab Association Singapore, and Ms. Mikiko
Tanaka, UNDP Country Director for Yemen, which was attended by more than 100
members of the local Yemeni Diaspora.

First Partnership with the Yemeni Diaspora for Yemen Our Home
More
than 100 members of the local Yemeni Diaspora in Singapore attend a ceremony of
signing a MoU between UNDP Yemen and the Arab Association Singapore to support
Yemen Our Home Initiative. The Arab Association Singapore will contribute to
raising awareness about Yemen Our Initiative, campaigns and projects to
mobilize all Yemeni diaspora and private organizations to fund and help resolve
the most pressing needs of Yemeni communities back home. “This is our first
partnership with the Yemeni Diaspora for Yemen Our Home," said UNDP Yemen
Country Director Ms. Mikiko Tanaka during the ceremony.
